I spent many years learning the skills of digital photography for my work as an editorial, corporate and art photographer. I, like most professionals, always use the computer to hone and enhance my photos. Sometimes the software's "automatic" settings do a good job but often I optimize the photo manually making adjustments using my visual knowledge. I never rely on "automatic" settings alone.
I make prints with a state-of-the-art professional archival photo printer using gallery quality paper. Tests have projected the prints will last at least a lifetime. See more. I use an exacting workflow so each print is a precise rendition of the photograph throughout its tonal range. The prints are sharper, the colors are truer, the blacks are blacker and the transitions are smoother than hybrid digital/chemical prints.
